Isaac Newton believed himself a theologian as much as a mathematician or physicist, and, according to K. Armstrong in A History of God, he wrote that Pythagoras, like Jesus, was a prophet sent by God to return mankind from its corrupted religions to an original rationalistic religion founded by Noah.
