If you are pinched for time, this is a section which can be done rapidly. Just emphasize that the technique of Fourier series is very robust, and that formal calculations like differentiating a series term by term almost always work very well. One example, done with software, should be enough.

This chapter has some useful tricks for calculating Fourier series - unless you have software to you it for you.
